Cherpumple Kerfuffel

This week, we celebrated my husband, Tim, and my niece, Daya's birthdays. I had recently heard of the cherpumple on my favorite podcast, The Satellite Sisters.  I decided, against my better judgement, to give it a try. Even though I didn't think it would be pretty and even though I didn't think it would taste good, and even after I googled it and one of the stories was, "how to successfully make a cherpumple" (how hard could it be), I was still ready to brave it.  My niece and my husband prefer pie to cake, so I thought this would be perfect. Here is my photodocumentary of my cherpumple journey. Please learn from my mistakes and don't go down that road.  Just don't.  My favorite part is my husband's desperate attempt to save the cherpumple. (on youtube clip my 10 year old daughter recorded, included below) I could tell he felt bad about the countless hours I put into this project and he was desperately trying to save it. This just made me love him more.
I shared about this on The Satellite Sisters' facebook page, and one of the sisters, Lian, asked me to make an album. I really had no idea how, so I asked my 18 year old niece and my 14 year old daughter to create a blog for me. They blocked out everyone's last names, except for Lian's, because, as they reasoned, she is a famous author. If we did not end up with a dessert worth serving, at least we could entertain you.
